POW Camp

Author howzey - Last updated: 24.08.2012

Found a little bit of history -The camp was built during 1941 and 1942 to take mainly Italian prisoners from the successful North African campaign; it was intended that these prisoners should work on farms. Later arrivers were mainly German, including aircrew who had been shot down, and even later Displaced Persons from countries once under German control.
