Exploring “The Crown Court” in the UK

Author Rusty - Last updated: 24.11.2011

This place was really one awesome explore . Started out first thing in the morning knowing this place existed from a post i had seen years ago . Got there and must of looked around for at least 2 hours trying to work out a way in. Managed to finda way but at 12 in the afternoon in a city center in full view of people shops and even a live court house things were not easy . As soon as i stepped foot in this place i just knew it would be a popular location . The court rooms and massive pillars made this place so cool and the cells were just amazing . I could have spent the whole day in this place

History ………

“It started off in 1808 as a Town Hall and courts for the Petty Sessions (now known as Magistrates’ Courts) and Quarter Sessions. The city was growing enormously at this time.

By the 1890s the building had become too small again, and a whole new Town Hall was built

From then on the building became an even larger courthouse and the police court. The law quarter is still based around this area, with the current Law Courts and many solicitors offices in this area too.

It remained a courthouse and police court until the late 1990s

On with the pics …….

Great find guys, those cells look really interesting, as does the main hall. Well done!

We went to Poznan, spent 8 hours there then got bundled into various 4×4’s and driven north. There were moments during the road trip I was reminded of the opening scenes of Hostel and was certain at any moment we were going to be killed for our cash and cameras
