Overlook mountain house revisit

Author Dpedraza - Last updated: 16.01.2017

We were back in New York for my fiancee’s grandmother birthday. I visited this place a few years back, I only had a few hours of free time and less than ideal conditions. It rained and it was quite muddy hiking up to this little gem it’s a 2 mile hike from the trail head. Nothing too spectacular or very interesting here. It’s an old hotel built in the early 1800s and lasted only till around 1920s.

Ordinarily we do our ‘sightseeing’ during the week. Security seem a little less ‘on the ball’, perhaps they’re not expecting visitors in the same way they are at a weekend.

Again, limited information on this place. Last review on a trip website rated it as 4 stars in 2010. In 2016, it was decidedly less so!

RDP stands for Radiodifusão Portuguesa that simply means the beginning of radio broadcasting in Portugal that later on became RTP the first TV channel.
