Birnbeck Pier, WSM

Author Ratters - Last updated: 25.01.2013

Have been down by this pier many times in the past from the shore for coastal/long exposure shots etc but each time the tide has never been in place to make it out. It wasn’t til it was mentioned on here recently plus a Saturday with a spare few hours just gone that I looked into the tide times/levels & they were as good as they were gonna get. Unfortunately even though dark stormy skies were wanted, that rain that came with them wasn’t so welcome & cut the visit extra short

:(

If anyone is thinking of visiting you need to be extra aware of the tides. Seriously. Plus allow plenty of time to get across as it’s very rocky/uneven/wet/slippery & it is surprising how fast the clock is ticking whilst preoccupied with navigating your way over

:)

Also the place is in a really bad way & even me being known to push & risk things at times when at locations didn’t venture off of the safe concrete of the structure. Bit of a three shot wonder really but glad to have finally set foot on there & thought I’d share anyways

:)

Ordinarily we do our ‘sightseeing’ during the week. Security seem a little less ‘on the ball’, perhaps they’re not expecting visitors in the same way they are at a weekend.
