Photographer of the Month – June 2012

Author Ms sophos9 - Last updated: 23.06.2012

Our featured photographer this month is well known for their post-apocalyptic style, using abandoned locations and desolate landscapes to create their images. His work has been published as book covers and CD artwork, so let’s find out a little bit more about digital artist and photographer Midnight-digital…..

My Technique and Tips:

I do not have specific techniques. I work with PS and LR.

I have some tips, yes, but as I see a lot of my stuff copied or imitated on Flickr (a website that is turning into huge garbage year after year imho), now I keep them for myself.

Techniques aren’t important in my eyes. The most important thing is to have something to show in your images. The storytelling is way more important and valuable than any technique.

So, a little bit about me.

I’m a photographer under contract with a pro agency in England.
I live in the south of France close the mediterranean sea. I love urban exploration, but also travelling.
I’m fond of imaginary universes, sci-fi, horror etc. Im also addict to music. I do a lot of book covers for publishers all around the world and some CD artwork…

Three things you probably didn’t know about me

1. I used to be a journalist, for a long time, for a big newspaper before working as a freelancer for some cultural, cinema, comics and rock music French magazines

2. I’m a real sucker for the 80′s. I love almost everything about the 80′s, even teen movies and John Hughes. I would give everything to go back into the 80′s lol.

3. Sometimes voices in my head are whispering me bad things…

Love the images. I especially like the use of people in them and the processing is excellent.
