Talk Urbex

So today I will take you to the not so abandoned part of Salve Mater. The write up about ” A visit to Salve Mater part 1 can be found here.

I hope you can remember the last room we went in, it was the examine room where they used to examine on dead people. While Mr.”B” was shooting this room, me and “F” decided to take an look outside to see what’s in the building across this examine room.

When we walked towards this building across the examine room first thing I noticed was a window that was left open. Could be a nice entrance point… “F” and me are looking to each other, without saying any words we totally understand each other and go directly for this window.

We are in, load’s of kitchen equipment in the room we came in. Take a quick look around to notice some note to other people left behind by some kind of artist/photographer. That the building is not abandoned, but full in use by him….

We decided to go on while Mr. “B” was still out there in the examine room. We walked down a corridor to see some great stuff in here, a little church in inside, rooms filled with stuff from the past and sign’s people are still coming here on daily base….We walked down some stairs to reach the cellar’s, while walking there we found this room filled with old patient documents and all that kind of things. We stopped for a moment to take a look at some of those, but wait shit! Mr. “B” is still alone in that examine room. We have got to go back to see if he isn’t got caught….

Back at the the examine room where Mr. “B” was still waiting for us we where talking over if we should do this or not, cause of it’s still in use and we don’t know if there are going to be people there later on… Well I can tell you we decided to do this one, we grabbed our bag’s and went through the window again.

When the last one got through the window we closed the window after us, so from the outside it will look like it was proper closed and we begin our “Infiltration” into this building. While we talked this over we decided to do this one quick. So we directly went for the church, as I haven’t seen much pic’s of this one I figured out that it has to be something special…..and it was!
I was in complete silence for a couple of seconds, waited for a moment till the info my eyes has send to my brain arrives and then I set up my camera and tripod to rock this joint!

Okey I’m done in the first room of the church which was just stunning! So up the door to see what’s next…..Damn!! That’s impressive, so clean, intact, looks like it’s still in use…..?

As you can see in the right corner there is an confessional, so after taken this shot’s I went towards to make some nice shots over there.

I was taking some shots of the confessional when I suddenly heard a sound coming from behind the emergency exit which is as you can see on the pic above is not far away from me at that moment! I walked towards the emergency exit to see what is happening behind that door…. While I was walking towards the door I alarmed Mr. “B” and “F” that there is someone else in the building behind that door. When I was close enough to look through the windows of the emergency exit it happened……I saw a shade coming straight at the freakin door!! I grabbed my stuff, took the crew with me and we went straight out the church…..

While running to the exit of the church I looked up to came face to face with the freak, but it was another freak…..I managed to take a shot of him before I quickly went after Mr. “B” and “F”..

Another Freak?

When I came closer to them we had a quick chat about what we are going to do….. We decided to stay and Infiltrate the 1st floor and so we did…

When we came up on the 1st, there was a long corridor with rooms on the left and the right, the first room I entered was the first room at the right….

It happens quite often that I run into old children’s toys such as doll’s, as you can see you can find them on the weirdest locations in the weirdest positions.

All of the next rooms seems to be staged, I think by artist / photographers. We could easily notice that there must be activity in here quite often.

So we where walking to the end of the corridor when I walked by a room that was really getting my attention…. I walked to the door, opened a little bit so I could take a sneak inside…

And there he was… The freak was sitting there in a wheelchair…. was he resting, dead? Which of the 2 freaks would it be?…..

Tired or Dead Freak?

I slowly walked backwards, hoping he won’t wake up or something like that…. I wanted to catch up with the guys, but it seems I just cant find theme anymore…. I decided to walk backwards I came from to see if they could be there. Opened some doors on my left and on my right and then again this room that was getting my attention earlier….mmmm I wonder if that freak is still there sitting in that wheelchair…This time I went to another door that leads to exactly the same room, I opened the door to see……

That I was right, there where 2 of those freaks. I took my shot and run away as hard as  I could…

While running I could hear the voices of Mr. “B” and “F”, I went up to them they where standing in a room from which you can overview the church from the inside. I told them what happened in the meanwhile we weren’t with the 3 of us and showed them the shot of the freaks together and so we decided to get the hell out of this place.

We didn’t saw the freaks on our way out, however I did had a feeling we where being followed…

When we walked outside the building passing the church, we heard some very loud noise coming out of the church…. Some kind of drum band where doing some drum practice inside the church we where just inside to take some  shot’s of…. Guess we where lucky we went outside.

On our way back to the car we did some outside shots as well.

After this we left Salve Mater through the same gate as we went in earlier that day.

We had a great time this day visiting, exploring and documenting ” Salve mater “.
